About

The Sons of the American Legion, also known as the SAL, is a proud program of The American Legion made up of sons, grandsons, and descendants of veterans who served our country honorably.

Built on the same principles of patriotism, service, and community, the SAL exists to honor the sacrifices and legacy of our nation’s veterans while continuing to give back through volunteer work, community involvement, and support of veteran-focused programs.

At American Legion Post 54, our SAL members are an important part of the Post family. They help support Legion events, assist with fundraisers, participate in community outreach, and help preserve the traditions and values that The American Legion was founded upon. Whether helping at local events, supporting veteran causes, or simply stepping up whenever help is needed, the SAL plays a vital role in keeping our mission strong.

The SAL is also about brotherhood, mentorship, and building lasting connections across generations. Members range from young children to adults, creating opportunities for families to stay involved together while honoring the service and sacrifice of those who came before them.

Who Can Join?

Eligibility for the Sons of the American Legion is open to males whose parents, grandparents, or ancestors served in the United States military and were eligible for membership in The American Legion.

This includes sons, grandsons, great-grandsons, step-sons, and adopted sons of veterans.

Continuing the Legacy

The Sons of the American Legion proudly carry forward the spirit of service, patriotism, and respect for veterans. Through community involvement and support of American Legion programs, SAL members help ensure that the sacrifices of our veterans are never forgotten.

Whether you want to honor your family’s military history, become involved in your community, or be part of a strong and supportive organization, we invite you to join the SAL family at American Legion Post 54.
